      Poetry is part of my life in a number of ways. I have realized that writing poetry takes things about me that I didn’t even know I had. When I write,  love talking about my heritage. Since my father immigrated here, he has told us stories from when he was little and had to work all day at the farm, drop out of school at forth grade and how he was well disciplined by his father. This plays a huge part in my poetry because when I hear the trouble and joy my father went to I want to talk about it but discreetly. 

     Poetry does does not always belong to everyone. But in most cases, it can grow on them and make them realize that they actually indeed like poetry. Take my classmate Diego for instance. When my teacher first told us that we were going to start a poetry unit, he gave the biggest sigh ever. Diego is more athletic than poetic but after a while he found an “open window” for poetry. He was able to put his love for sports into his writing. He became more passionate about his writing and enjoyed it. 

But how doe wee know if it is part of someones life? I mostly notice about word choice. If people use simple word choice in poetry, then I feel that they don’t care. When people use good word choice or talk about their life, I feel they love and care for poetry.

     Poetry can be a definite vital part of someone’s life. It can be a let out. A way to relieve stress. Sometimes when people keep anger and stress in them, one day it can just explode. People have panic attacks or they just don’t want to do anything. Poetry can be a safe way to let it all out and people relieve them selves.

     The life and experiences can be a big impact on one poetry. If people have gone through pain, they will like I say, use their poetry as a let out. If people have joy and are not angry at all they have bountiful poems. If people have a rich or varied heritage like me, I use that as inspiration. Other people may have different experiences for their writing but in the end, it all comes down to a beautiful poem.
